Jerry Colby Sr

Jerry Leon Colby, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 25, 2018, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Jerry was born July 6, 1950, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Isaac Radford Colby and Erma Jene Hines Colby. He grew up and attended Whiter Elementary and Central Junior High schools in Idaho Falls.

On October 12, 1968, he married Maria Cruz in Idaho Falls. To this union were born four children, Rosa, Jerry Jr., Sheila, and Jessie. They were later divorced. Jerry made his home in Idaho Falls, where Jerry worked as a forklift operator for Basic American Foods.

He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with family. He loved working on cars or anything else that would make his hands greasy as a mechanic.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Maria Colby of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Rosa Caudillo of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jerry Colby Jr. of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Sheila Gutierrez of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jessie Colby of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Isaac (Anne) Colby of Boise, ID; sister, Joyce (Robert) Trejo of Idaho Falls, ID; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Delbert Leroy Colby, and daughter-in-law, Ginger Bird Colby.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
