Gerald Ray “Jerry” Bergeman, born October 25, 1940, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Sylner “Sly” Bergeman and Bernice Radford Bergeman, passed away September 8, 2025, at his home.

Jerry grew up in Menan, Idaho, before moving with his family to Arizona, where he went to high school. He later returned to Idaho and began his lifelong career as a mechanic. Jerry first opened a shop in Iona, Idaho, and eventually established Jerry Bergeman and Sons Auto and Body Shop in Idaho Falls, where he built a reputation for skill, hard work, and honesty.

On September 4, 1998, Jerry married Susan Kathryn Holbrook in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they made their home in Ammon, Idaho, and were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Jerry was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed boating, four-wheeling, competing in tractor pulls, and had a deep love for fast cars. Jerry loved the outdoors, snowmobiling, and was an avid hunter. He also had a deep love for his dogs.

Jerry’s life was marked by dedication to his family and his work. He will be remembered for his generosity, adventurous spirit, and the joy he brought to those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice Bergeman and Sylner “Sly” Bergeman; brother, Richard Dee Bergeman; step-mom, Beth Bergeman, son, Kevin Jenkins; step-son, Bryan Lloyd; and three grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Susan of Idaho Falls, ID; his children, Kendal (Shauna) Jenkins of Idaho Falls, ID, Brian (Nanette) Jenkins of Washington, Darin Bergeman of Idaho Falls, ID; step-children, Shelley (Craig) Weir of Salt Lake City, UT, Sydney Lynn (Robert) Gibson of St. George, UT, Stacey (Carl) Stoddard of Pocatello, ID, Carolee (Eric) Hogan of Salt Lake City, UT, and Julia Bowen of Idaho Falls, ID; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Bishop KC Kuttler officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:30-7 p.m. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior, with both visitations at Wood East Side. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
