With heavy hearts, the family of Jerome Jacob Mohl share the passing of our dear, kind, sensitive, and happy father, brother and uncle, on March 22, 2026 in Shelley, Idaho.
On December 10, 1975, a bouncing baby boy was welcomed to the Mohl household. He was the pride and joy of his father, Jacob R. Mohl. Jerome was a spoiled child and had older sisters to guide him and love him deeply.
Our dearest Jerome was a man of many smiles and happiness, lighting up any room he entered. He was known throughout his life for his fierce love of family and friends. Jerome was born in Bozeman, MT, where he remained until leaving to serve in the United States Coast Guard on June 13, 1994. He served his country for seven years, earning the rank of E4. Throughout his career with the USCG, Jerome was awarded several medals including, USCG National Defense Service Medal, USCG Sea Service Ribbon, USCG Unit Commendation Ribbon, and USCG Good Conduct Medal. He was stationed in Alaska and Oregon, receiving an honorable discharge on June 21, 2021.
This journey landed him in Oregon where he met and married, Brandi. From this union their son, Trevor Mohl, was born. Trevor became the pride and joy of their lives. Even after later divorcing, Brandi and Jerome remained friends and excellent co-parents.
Growing up in the Gallatin Valley, Jerome was an avid outdoorsman. He held close to his heart the many fishing and hunting trips shared with family and friends. Be it antelope hunting in Broadus, deer and elk hunting in the Gravelly Range or floating the Madison River with family. Jerome also treasured the many family camping trips, relentless in dumping family members off the tube behind the boat. He played baseball and football in his earlier years, fostering many friendships that carried with him his entire life.
He was a devoted father to his surviving son, Trevor Mohl of Coos Bay, OR. Additionally, he is survived by his ex-wife, Brandi Mohl of Coos Bay, OR; his sisters, Jacqueline (Dan) Kennedy, and Jamie Pope of Idaho Falls, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, particularly sharing a special bond with his nephew, Dillon Pope.
Jerome was preceded in death by his father, Jacob R. Mohl; step-father, John Topp; and his mother, Vivian E. Mohl.
Jerome lived a life defined by his fierce love for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. GO DUCKS and BOBCATS!
Our hearts will never be the same without our beloved father, brother and uncle. However, you are now at peace, we will take it from here.
