Jeremiah Nielson - 03/26/2003 Jeremiah Nielson - 03/26/2003 JEREMIAH NIELSON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Jeremiah Nielson, 20, of Rigby, Idaho, died March 26, 2003, at the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello from injuries suffered in an automobile accident March 16th. He was born May 27, 1982, in Mesa, Arizona, to Marc Reid Nielson and Beth Hatch Nielson. He grew up in Thatcher, Arizona, Idaho Falls and Rigby, Idaho, attending Eagle Rock Jr. High, Skyline High School and Willcox High School in Willcox, Arizona. After graduation, he worked in Retail and Telemarketing Sales. He joined the Marines and was a Lance Corporal serving as a Tank Mechanic and Weapons Specialist. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he participated in Scouting, was a Sunday School Teacher and held the office of Elder. He enjoyed music, all athletics and ice skating; he was an athletic young man who loved the mountains, family and church and was full of laughter, surprises and considered by his Command to be the epitome of The Marine Corps. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Saturday for one hour prior to services at the church. Military Rites will be performed immediately following the services in Rigby, by the U. S. Marines from Company C, 4th Tank Battalion of Boise. Funeral Services will also be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at the LDS Church located at 1520 South Catalina in Gilbert, Arizona. The family will visit with friends Tuesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Mesa Cemetery under the direction of Meldrum Mortuary of Mesa, Arizona.
