Jennifer Lou Harper Ramey, 63, joined her Father in Heaven on October 13, 2025, of complications from surgery. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, and friend.
Jenni Harper was born April 5, 1962, in Ogden, Utah, to David and Barbara Harper. She was joined by her brothers, Wade, Rod, and Richard over the next eight years. She fought like cats and dogs with all her brothers throughout her life, but loved them with an unmatched fierceness. Ask anyone who ever said a cross word about any of them. Jenni grew up in the Coltman area and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1980 where she played center for the Bee’s women’s basketball team.
Jenni worked at the Idaho National Laboratory for 33 years where she worked her way from a secretary to a Spent Nuclear Fuel Senior Operator, and retired as Work Control Manager. Her career wasn’t just her job; it was her support system. Her coworkers weren’t just her colleagues; they did life together.
One day while he was playing darts, Jenni met Mike Ramey. After a year of dating, he was crazy enough to ask her to marry him. And on May 19, 2001, Jenni and Mike were married in her parent’s backyard.
In 2018, Jenni and Mike moved to Meridian to be closer to her daughter, Adrean, and grandchildren. “Grandma Jenni” made dinner every Tuesday and doted on her grandson like it was Disneyland. Jenni and Mike also traveled the world together; among her favorites were Ireland, Scotland, and Budapest.
Jenni was preceded in death by her father, David, and nephew, TJ. She is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter, Adrean Cavener (Luke); mother, Barbara Harper; brothers, Wade Harper (Leslie), Rod Harper (Heidi), and Richard Harper (Linda); and stepchildren, J.R. Ramey (Tiff), Dan Ramey (Katrina), Ginger Latta, Tammy Ramey, Tish Sanchez (Erasmo). She is loved by her grandchildren, Gunner and Lincoln, Kurt and MacKenzie Ramey; and all her nieces and nephews, of which there are many.
