Jennifer Lyn Batté

Jennifer Lyn Batté passed away on February 10, 2023, at her home. She was 40 years old.

Jenni (as her family has always called her) or Jen (as most now know her) was born October 7, 1982, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, arriving shortly after her twin brother Christopher. Her mother, Deanna, had been told by her doctor that she wasn't having twins, but the pair arrived together just the same.

Jenni grew up in Idaho Falls and attended Westside Elementary, Eagle Rock Junior High School, and both Skyline and Lincoln High Schools. She was a happy, playful, friendly, and smart girl, and even recently was remembered by a former secondary teacher as "such a smart girl… who talked to her friends too much in class." Jenni always valued friendships and was very loyal, sometimes to a fault. Jenni loved her girls Payton and Tamia most of all, and even through all of her many struggles, she worried about them and valued them and wanted to be able to support and take care of them. Even as she struggled to take care of herself.

Jen's battles with addiction and mental health issues were known to many as were the decisions that led to so much loss in her life, but she always seemed to bounce back with the support of her family and friends.

After her most recent struggles, she seemed poised for yet another comeback and said she was ready to get some help and get her life back on track. Unfortunately, this recovery was cut short last week.

The Jen we all will remember is the one we sometimes only had glimpses of in recent years, but that was still there underneath what could be a tough façade. Her smile and laugh were infectious, she always remembered the silly jokes we made up as kids, and whether she was up or down, you always knew she loved you.

We love you so much Jen, Jenni, Jennifer, Johnny, and we will miss you more than we can say, but we know you've found the peace and love that you always searched for in this life.

She is survived by her daughters, Tamia Batté and Payton Batté; brothers, Christopher (Ashley) Batté and Zachary (Trina) Batté; sister, Amy (Dave) Byrd; mother and step-father Deanna Batté and Claude Kimball; and grandfather Don Beckman. She is also survived by two nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Batté, and her grandmother Barbara Beckman.

A celebration of life will be held for family and friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2023, at The Brickyard Event Center, 1025 South Ammon Road.
