JENNIE MAY POLLARD
IDAHO FALLS, ID --
Jennie May Mattson Pollard passed into eternity at the age of 86 April 7, 2006, from conditions incident to age at the Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Jennie was born April 8, 1919, in Thayne, Wyoming. Jennie was the middle child of five children born to Frank Mattson and Amy Maude Weaver Mattson. Her brothers and sisters are George Mattson (deceased), Carmen Mattson (deceased), Glen Mattson (deceased), and Naomi (Al) Crandall of Shelley, Idaho.
Jennie attended Rigby Schools. On a warm sunny day in early 1940, Jennie met the love of her life, George Pollard. They were married in Idaho Falls, Idaho, October 11, 1940. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple April 13, 1963. They moved to the Antelope area to dry farm.. Jennie was the cook for all the hired hands.
Jennie was a woman of many talents. Among them: her skills of cooking, gardening, hand work and her beautiful quilts. Many members of her family are the proud owners of one of her quilts. She had a beautiful yard whereever she lived and it was her pride and joy. In 1954, Jennie and George purchased the Milo Store, of which Jennie became the proprietor. While in Milo, Jennie made lasting friendships and she truly loved the people there. Jennie was an exceptional and true friend to everyone she knew. In 1970, they sold the store and moved to Idaho Falls.
Her husband, George and one son, Larry, her parents, two brothers, George and Glen, and a sister, Carmen, preceded her in death. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy of children and grandchildren. Her children are Judy (Paul) Botero of Iona, Idaho and Warren (Shirley) Pollard of Stevensville, Montana.
Her grandchildren are Hollie (Scott) Noble, Kirk (Renee’) Botero, Rob ( Deanna) Botero, Lisa (John) Bork, Tony (Maria) Botero and Patti Pollard. She also has thirteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2006, at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, Idaho Falls.
