Jeffrey Newberry

Jeffrey Thomas Newberry, 71, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018, surrounded by those he loved, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born October 24, 1946, in Pocatello, Idaho, to parents George and Shirley Newberry. He was married to the love of his life Gloria, for forty-four years. She was his favorite cook and most challenged chapman golf partner. He was a hero, hand warmer and body guard to his three daughters, Katherine (Gregg) Watson, Kim (Nathan) Hawkes, and Stephanie (Craig) Morgan. He spent most of his work career in sales and marketing, which allowed him the wonderful opportunity to travel the world. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, practicing his handyman skills, tinkering and building things, playing golf, fishing and telling jokes. He was a loving companion to his wife, a rock to his family, and a great friend to many. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; three daughters, Katherine, Kim and Stephanie; mother, Shirley; sister, Candice; brother, Chris (Carol); and 8 grandchildren, whom he adored, Kayla, Emily, Madison, Brady, London, Raelyn, Dawson and Blakley. He is preceded in death by his father, George, and granddaughter, Payton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, with Brian McBride officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:30-7 p.m. and Saturday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services, both visitations at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, he wanted any donations sent to Paces for Payton, a non-profit organization that provides help to pediatric organ transplant families, which was started in honor of his granddaughter, Payton.
