Jeff Mccowin

Jeffery Lynn McCowin, 57, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 5, 2015, at his home. Jeff was born February 6, 1958, in Idaho Falls, ID, to H. Owens Briggs and Mickey Briggs. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and attended Bonneville High School. Jeff lived in Ogden, Utah and Reno, Nevada, before returning to Idaho Falls. On February 14, 1980, he married Sherri Staggs. They were later divorced. Jeffery worked as a equipment operator in the construction industry. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jeff was a member of the ROTC and earned the ranking of a corporal. He enjoyed fishing, camping and collecting rocks and arrowheads. Jeff is survived by son, Jeffery (Rachel) McCowin of Beaverton, OR, son, Trevor McCowin of Idaho Falls, ID, mother, Mickey Isaacs Briggs of Idaho Falls, ID father, H. Owen Briggs of Idaho Falls, ID, brother, Cliff (Jackie) McCowin of Lorenzo, ID, brother, Mike (Judy) McCowin of Menan, ID brother, Kenny McCowin of Idaho Falls, ID, and 8 grandchildren, including Lydia McCowin and Jonas McCowin . He was preceded in death by his brothers; Kevin Nield and Greg McCowin; and a sister in-law, Karen McCowin. A gathering will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015, at Wood East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
