JEANNETTE G. WALBOM ISLAND PARK, ID -- Jeannette Georganna Hanson Walbom, 83, of Tucson, Arizona, died June 13, 2004, at the home of her son in Island Park. She was born October 5, 1920, in Wayland, Iowa, to Hargabert Bertenius Hanson and Jeannette Orpha Burroughs Hanson. She grew up and attended schools in southeast Idaho. Following graduation from Pocatello High School, she attended Idaho State University. On November 16, 1941, she married Lorenz Iver Walbom Jr. in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized May 19, 1943, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She spent much of her life in southeast Idaho. In the mid 1950's, she served as the secretary to the Chamber of Commerce in Blackfoot. She was a realtor for many years in the Idaho Falls area and served as the president of the Idaho Falls Women's Realtors Association. After her husband retired from Westinghouse in Tennessee, they resided in Idaho Falls during the summers and spent their winters in Arizona. Following her husband's death in 1997, she made her home in Tucson, Arizona. The last few months of her life were spent in Island Park under the care of her family. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings in the church throughout her life. Jean enjoyed music, painting, travel, and spending time with her friends and family. Surviving are: Son: Michael David (Pamela) Walbom, Tucson, AZ Son: Paul deBarton (Penny) Walbom, Island Park, ID Son: Jeffery Collin (Jacqui) Walbom, Idaho Falls, ID 8 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband. Funeral Services will be at 12 Noon Thursday, June 17, 2004, at the Idaho Falls LDS Osgood Ward, 7940 North 35 West, with Bishop William H. Taylor officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Thursday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
