JEANIENE EMPEY
AMMON, ID -- Elva Jeaniene Borg Empey, 67, of Ammon, died February 10, 2002, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of pneumonia.
She was born April 30, 1934, at Idaho Falls, to Jonas Berger Borg and Virginia Adelia Jenkins Borg. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. She also attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University, where she studied elementary education. She was a lifelong resident of Idaho Falls and Ammon.
She married Paul Eugine Empey July 30, 1954, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Ammon, where she was a homemaker, mother, and wife. They also owned and she managed Empey Storage in Ammon. Much of her time was devoted to caring for her youngest son, Kevin.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in Primary, Young Women's, Relief Society, and Cub Scouts. She enjoyed skiing, camping, and fishing in her younger years. She loved crocheting afghans, doing family history work, and spending time at the family cabin. Nieces, Nephews, and Grandchildren played an important part in her life; she especially loved hugs from her grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2002, at the Ammon LDS 10th Ward, 4375 East Sunnyside Road, with her son, John P. Empey, a counselor in the 10th Ward Bishopric, officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the church.
