JEAN PASSEY Click here to view Jean's Video Tribute IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Jean Hoge Passey, 94, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 13, 2009, at Idaho Falls Health and Rehabilitation. She was born February 18, 1915, at Paris, Idaho, to Wiliam Budge Hoge and Mary Ann Wahlen Hoge. She attended Paris Schools and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Idaho State University. She married Melvin Smith Passey on June 7, 1939 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They were later divorced. She worked as a school teacher for over 30 years at North Fremont High School and Ashton Elementary School. She enjoyed being the advisor to the pep club and the drill team. She lived in Ashton for 53 years; Ephraim, Utah, for 13 years; and Idaho Falls for 4 years. She was a member of the American Legion. She was the First Grand Marshall of the North Fremont High Homecoming Parade. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Junior Sunday School and Relief Society organizations. She was an avid sports fan of the Utah Jazz, the Atlanta Braves, and the Colorado Rockies. She was a storyteller, enjoyed traveling and visiting with friends and family. Survivors include: Son: John W. Passey, Idaho Falls, ID 9 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Bernice Armstrong, Pearl Daniels, Ruby Schofield; brother, Scott Hoge; and her daughter, Ann Barton. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2009, at the Ashton LDS 4th Ward, 1313 North 3600 East, Ashton, with Bishop Jim Hawkes officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., Idaho Falls, and on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church.
