Jean Frances Bond Lythgoe, born on October 22, 1941, in Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on March 12, 2025, at age 83, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, succumbing to the effects of age.
She was the 4th child to D. LeRoy Bond and Pearl Willis Bond. She came home to two sisters, Donna and Marilyn, and a brother, Donald LeRoy (Buzz). Soon, three more children were added making seven kids: Jerald, Linda, and Larry. Her father nicknamed her Jeannie with the light brown hair, and it became her preferred name throughout her life.
Jeannie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Temple ordinance worker for many years in both Billings and Idaho Falls. Gary and Jeannie lived and raised their family in Billings for 38 years before moving to Idaho Falls in 2002. She celebrated her 62nd wedding anniversary with Gary this past November. Jeannie was known for her life of service. Her family remembers her as someone who laughed easily and often.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Lythgoe, who passed away on Thanksgiving, 2024. Jeannie is also preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Pearl Bond; her siblings, Donna, Marilyn, Jerry, and Larry; her nephew, Brian Plumb; and her grandson, Brandon Lythgoe.
She is survived by her siblings, Linda Church and Buzz Bond, both of Arizona; and by sons, Derek (Janet) Lythgoe of Gilbert, Arizona, Kyle (Rhonda) Lythgoe of Whitewood, South Dakota, Dean (Cecilia) Lythgoe of Cedar Hills, Utah, and Chad (Dawna) Lythgoe of Woods Cross, Utah; daughters, Jill (Monte) Williams of Kimberly, Idaho and Charrise (Stefan) Bateman of Rigby, Idaho; along with 21 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and one on the way.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Idaho Falls Stake Center, 1155 1st Street, with President Brian Schultz officiating. A viewing and an opportunity to visit with family will be offered from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
