Jean Bills Jensen, 91, of Idaho Falls, formerly of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away August 6, 2018, at MorningStar Senior Living Center in Idaho Falls. She was under the care of Encompass Home Health and Hospice and her loving family. Jean was born September 12, 1926, in Cardston Alberta, Canada, the fifth of six children, to Samuel Henry Bills and Annie Laura Hilton Bills. She grew up and attended schools in Vernal, Utah, and graduated from Uintah High School where she was a cheerleader. On May 4, 1958, she married Robert Louis Jensen in Salt Lake City, Utah. Together, they raised their daughter, Kathy. Jean and Robert made their home in Salt Lake City, Utah, where they lived for 60 years. She worked as a medical assistant and office manager for two doctor’s offices, where she worked for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, golfing, playing bridge, knitting and crocheting. She and Bob loved camping with their Good Sam group. She especially loved taking loving care of her family and serving others. She was a wonderful hostess and everyone looked forward to her many parties, especially Christmas Eve parties. Jean is survived by her loving husband, Robert Louis Jensen of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Kathy (Larry) Chapman of Cottonwood Heights, UT; granddaughters, Christina (Bart) Rothe, Jeannie (Cuyler) Scates and Kathryn Chapman; great-granddaughters, Sarah (Jordan) Winder, Allison Rothe and Lydia Scates; great-grandsons, Austin (Kaily) Rothe, Elder Caleb Scates, Josiah Scates and Samuel Scates. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, three brothers and best friend, Marilyn Kissel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery. The family would like to thank Encompass Home Health and Hospice and MorningStar Senior Living’s staff in Reflections for the care and kindness given to Jean.
