Jean Ann Hincks, 79, of Swan Valley, passed away July 14, 2016, at her home. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice.
Jean was born January 4, 1937, in Ely, Nevada, to Clark L. Prince and Mildred Laura Gordon Prince. She grew up and attended schools in Ely, Ririe, and Idaho Falls High School. She was a Majorette with the school band.
On October 24, 1953, she married Anthony Billy "Tony" Hincks in Swan Valley. To this union were born eight children, Rocky, Barry, Cody, Clay, Kelly, Lynni, Cory, and Brady. Jean and Anthony Tony made their home in Swan Valley, Idaho, where Jean worked as a clerk at the Swan Valley Commissary. She also worked in the kitchen at Irwin Elementary, which she loved.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed crafts and holiday decor. She was known for the best Christmas decorations in Swan Valley. She was a rock hound, enjoyed gardening, writing poetry, dancing, and her family.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Anthony "Tony" Hincks of Swan Valley, ID; son, Rocky (Nit) Hincks of Tacoma, WA; son, Barry (Jennifer) Hincks of Bellevue, ID; son, Cody Hincks of Overton, NV; son, Clay (Debbie) Hincks of Rock Springs, WY; son, Kelly Hincks of Swan Valley, ID; daughter, Lynni Hincks of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Cory Hincks of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Brady (Astra) Hincks of Rigby, ID; 25 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, with three on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial gathering will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016, at the LDS Church in Swan Valley (3109 Swan Valley Highway).
