Jay Weeks, 83, of Irwin, Idaho passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at his home.
He was born December 5, 1931, to Jesse and Opal Weeks in Ririe, Idaho. He grew up and attended school in Irwin, Idaho. In 1949, he met the love of his life Aneita (Jenkins) Weeks and married in the Idaho Falls Temple.
He served in various church callings and enjoyed serving others.
Jay taught himself to play the guitar and had organized a band. He enjoyed the outdoors, worked hard on the family farm and spent many years in the hills taking care of the sheep. He also worked for Idaho Falls School District #91 as a grounds maintenance mechanic. He drove the high school bus from Swan Valley to Idaho Falls for several years, patiently carrying those “Dam Kids.”
In later years he enjoyed spending time with his family and with his grandchildren and many many great grandchildren.

Son, Randy (Jeanette) Weeks of Rexburg, ID;
Son, Dee Jay (Camie) Weeks of Idaho Falls, ID;
Daughter, Glenna Bitton of Salt Lake City, UT;
Daughter, Debbie (Randy) Woolstenhulme of Victor, ID;
Daughter, Ronda (Bob) Hammer of Driggs, ID;
Brother, Melvin (JoAnn)Weeks, of Irwin, ID;
Sister, Yvonne Miller of Irwin, ID;
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and three brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2014, at the Palisades LDS Church (3109 Swan Valley Highway) with Bishop Terry Hulse officiating. The family will visit with friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Swan Valley Cemetery.
