Jay D. Taylor - 10/21/2002 Jay D. Taylor - 10/21/2002 JAY D. TAYLOR IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Jay Dee Taylor, 89, of Idaho Falls, died October 19, 2002, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was born August 19, 1913 in Coltman, Idaho, to David R. Taylor and Ada Grace McEntire Taylor. He grew up and attended Coltman Elementary and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He served in the U. S. Air Force during World War II, Squadron Carrier in the 13th Troop and as a Sargent of the 403 Troop. He married Laura M. Benson January 17, 1949. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple November 26, 1952. He worked for Western Union, Challenge Creamery, Greyhound Bus Lines and Union Pacific Railroad in Pocatello, and at the Westinghouse Naval Reactor site. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2146. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Surviving are:Wife: Laura B. Taylor, Idaho Falls, IDHe was preceded in death by his son, Craig J. Taylor; a sister; eight brothers (one his twin); and a half sister. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at the Idaho Falls LDS Grandview Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Grand Leavitt officiating. The family will meet with friends on Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, and for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Moreland Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Bingham County Veterans Team. If you would like to offer your condolences fill in the form below.
