Jay Stanger

Jay Bruce Stanger, 70, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 11, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Society, Idaho Falls Village. Jay was born January 4, 1940, in Rigby, Idaho to James Ritchie Stanger and Pearl Armstrong Stanger. He grew up and lived in the Lincoln area of Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School. On February 29, 1964 he married Joy Gardner in Idaho Falls. Together they had three children. They were later divorced. On March 28, 1986, Jay married Anita Kay Judy in Idaho Falls. He helped raise Anita’s daughter, Alisha. Jay and Anita enjoyed their life together and spent a lot of time in the outdoors camping, fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles. Jay enjoyed mechanical work and especially loved spending time with his family. Jay was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He worked as a custodian for School District #91 until his retirement in 2002. Survivors include: Son: Deljay (Jonna)Stanger, Las Vegas, NV Daughter: Gwen Adele (Scott)Bresee, Wichita, KS Son: Victor James Stanger, Las Vegas NV Stepdaughter: Alisha Cook, Coeur D’Alene, ID Brother: Alfred Lloyd (Donna) Stanger, Townsley, AL Sister: Wanda Stanger Johnson, Idaho Falls, ID 3 Grandchildren. Jay was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Anita. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday for one hour prior to the services, both visitations at Wood Funeral Home East Side.
