Earl Jay Stacey, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away on August 24, 2014, at Morningstar Senior Living Center.
He was born June 23, 1929, in Poplar, Idaho to James William Stacey and Ora Killian Stacey. He attended schools in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On March 14, 1953, he married Clara Irene McGavin in Idaho Falls. He worked at Idaho National Laboratory as a Process Operator on a number of test reactors.
Jay was a member of Alliance Covenant. He especially loved his family and spending time with the grandchildren. As an avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, hunting and telling stories about his adventures.

Son: Brent Jay (Sandy) Stacey, Idaho Falls, ID
Daughter: Irene (William) Hansen, Roosevelt, UT
Daughter: Janet (Sam) Peterson, Portland, OR
Brother: Dee Stacey
9 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Lee William Hansen; a sister, Ida Lindstrom; a brother, Leon Stacey; and sister-in-law, Blanka Stacey.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014, at
Watersprings Calvary Chapel, 4250 South 25th East, with Pastor Gordon Boyle officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
