Jay H. Cook, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 4, 2018, at his home.
Jay was born April 24, 1939, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Blaine H Cook and Dorothy Iola Bitton Cook. He grew up and attended schools in Salmon, Idaho. Jay attended Montana State University in Missoula, Montana, Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, and Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He earned an Associate’s Degree in accounting.
Jay worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Alhambra and Glendora (Los Angeles County) California.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jay enjoyed United States history.
Jay is survived by his daughter, Alison Ann Cook of Reseda, CA; son, David Blaine (Tammy) Cook of Allen, TX; daughter, Heidi Lynn (Steve) Slater of Glendora, CA; brother, Alonzo Dean (Lynda) Cook of Salt Lake City, UT; brother, Ladelle E (Connie) Cook of Terrell, TX; and brother, Cary Gene (Merrilee) Cook of Elko, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Blaine Eugene Cook, and sister, Elaine Iola Moore.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
