Jared Wayne Allen

With incredible sadness, we announce the tragic passing of our husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle following four months of illnesses and treatments.

Jared was born in Rexburg, Idaho, and lived in Idaho Falls and Rigby thru his childhood. At 19 years old, he left home to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For the next two years, he served and loved the people in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. He loved his mission so much that he didn’t want to leave. In a way, he didn’t.

After returning home for several months, he was called back to Canada to help another family. Then while traveling around visiting other towns, he fell in love with a Canadian girl, marrying her and returning to live in Alberta for the next 12 years. Jared married Esther Tynan, and together they had three children, Christopher, Steven, and Sarah.

Jared was a gifted handyman and could repair anything. He had a mechanical mind. His lifelong work has been in this field. In 1994, Jared, bringing his family with him, returned to Idaho and started up a carpet cleaning company. That company morphed into maintenance work and became his focus. In his spare time, he loved to fish and care for his animals. In fact, he was given the nickname “Noah” because he was always adding to his collection for animals and working on his beloved acreage.

His wife and his kids were his world. Jared was totally devoted to them and to his Lord and Savior. He had a deep spiritual well and his greatest desire was to learn of the Lord and love Him. He quietly served and cared for people, never seeking attention unless he was giving the biggest bear hugs. He was a hugger and a gentle soul.

Jared is survived by his wife of 42 years, Esther; his children, Chris Allen (Megan) of Idaho Falls, Steve Allen (Ashley) of Boise, Idaho, Sarah Allen Lopez (Mauricio) of Los Lunas, New Mexico; and his four amazing grandchildren, Kaydence, Lyla, Chelsea, Jaxson, and two more due in December and February.
