KELLY OAKDEN
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Janice Kelly Oney Oakden, 46, of Idaho Falls, died August 6, 2006, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born January 9, 1960, at Rockford, Illinois to Tyrus Raymond Oney and Lilly Ellen Blair Oney. She attended North Park Elementary in Illinois, Junior High School in Denver, Colorado and East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. While in high school, she won the Crisco Homemaking Award. Following graduation, she completed nurses training and worked as a nurse’s aide.
In 1979, she married William C. “Bill” Oakden III in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were later divorced. She was a mother and also worked as a waitress, data entry person, and as manager of Grantree Furniture Company. She was a volunteer for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed writing, traveling, eating, shopping and collecting angels. She loved being with her son and grandson, William “Christian” Oakden V, enjoyed the companionship of her dog of seven years, Raggie; and loved spending time with a special group of friends, the “Lava Hot Springs Gals.”

Sister: Patricia Ann (Scott) Haroldsen, Idaho Falls
Sister: Kathryn Marie (Gary Lynn) Carlson, Las Vegas, NV
Sister: Candieth Joy (Davis Kelly) Guymon, Ariqiepa, Peru
and one Grandson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tyrus Raymond Oney, and a brother, Tyrus Raymond Oney, Jr.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home.
