OBITUARY INFORMATION Janet Smith Janet Grace Ruttan Smith, 73, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 14, 2014, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community. Janet was born January 8, 1941, in , Seattle, Washington, to Reginald David Ruttan and Grace E Storey Ruttan. She grew up and attended schools in Seattle and graduated from Franklin High School. She also attended Whitman College. On September 18, 1961, she married Don Gregory Smith in Seattle. To this union were born two children, Mark and Cherie. Janet and Don made their home in Spokane, Washington, San Jose, California, Provo, Utah, and Idaho Falls, Idaho. Janet retired after working twelve years as an arbitrator for Brigham Young University in Provo. After thirty-two years of marriage, they divorced, but remained best friends. Don passed away on May 2, 2012. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in various callings. She enjoyed decorating, reading, and especially loved time spent with her grandchildren. Janet is survived by her son, Mark Smith of Freemont, CA; daughter, Cherie (Erick) McPherson of Ammon; 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
