Janene Utkin

Janene Lynn Utkin, 54, of Shelley, Idaho, passed away October 7, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Janene was born February 20, 1960, in Clovis, New Mexico, to William Ramsey Stringer and Elda Lynn Wofford Stringer. Janene was born into a military family and moved around growing up. She graduated from LHC High School in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and later attended Schenectady County Community College in New York. On October 28, 1978, Janene married Peter Borris Utkin in Lake Havasu, Arizona. From this union they were blessed with three children, Nathan, Nicholas and Heidi. Janene worked as a waitress at Pizza Hut and Kentucky Fried Chicken, and as a sales associate at JCPenney. She was a member of the Journey Church and helped in the nursery. Janene enjoyed riding motorcycles, sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Peter; son, Nathan (Kristy) Utkin of Roy, WA son, Nicholas (Stephanie) Utkin of Phoenix, AZ daughter, Heidi (Matt) Meyers of Nitro, WV mother, Elda Lynn (Malcom E.) Shaffer of Lubbock, TX brother, William R. (Karen) Stringer of Lubbock, TX sister, Cheryl Simmons of Lake Havasu, AZ and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, William Stringer. Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Journey Church, 505 N. Park Avenue in Shelley.
