Elaine Janaye Emery, age 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 23, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center due to complications from pneumonia. She went peacefully, surrounded by her family.
Janaye was born on October 13, 1947, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Armin Henry and GloraDean Lowder Durtschi. She was the fourth of seven children. She attended school in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
She met James Boyd (Jim) Emery and in 1965 they were married in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over the next five years they had three beautiful daughters, Danaye, Missie and Alison.
Jim and Janaye lived in several homes in the Idaho Falls area and particularly enjoyed the home they built south of town. Janaye enjoyed working as a manager in clothing retail at The Kiddie Shop, Cindy's, Vanity, Demarcos, and recently W. by Worth, as a consultant in her home. She not only enjoyed management, but was very talented and was involved in purchasing inventory. One of her favorite things was seeing the new clothing fashions at market. Janaye worked hard and put in many long hours to help support her girls in their activities. She was a devoted and loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their interests. Her love was for her kids, her grandkids, and her "greats." She had a way of making everyone feel important and she was always just a phone call away. Janaye had many close and dear friends whom she cherished.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Janaye served in different positions, including Primary, Sunday School and nursery. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Listening to all types of music was a big part of her life.
Janaye is survived by her daughters, Danaye (Tim) Eaton and Alison (Clint) Keele, both of Idaho Falls, and Missie Biggs of Three Forks, MT; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a grandson.
