Janace C. (Crofts) Pershing

Janace Corriene Pershing, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 12, 2025, at Sage Grove Assisted Living. She was under the care of Solace Hospice.

Janace was born April 17, 1939, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Marvin Merrit Crofts and Eva Larson Crofts. She was later adopted by Ancel Haroldsen and Eliza Anderson Haroldsen in 1944. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School.

In 1961, she married Darwin Dutson in Ely, Nevada. He passed away July 6, 1980.

On August 16, 1984, she married Elbert Harrison Pershing in Pocatello, Idaho. Janace and Elbert made their home in Idaho Falls where Janace worked as a LPN for EIRMC. Elbert passed away March 9, 2010.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed camping, cross stitching, listening to music, planting flowers, doing puzzles, and watching Game Show Network.

Janace is survived by her daughter, Doreen Dutson of Ririe, ID; daughter, Teresa (Keith) Waters of Idaho Falls, ID; twin sister, Joyce Novosad of Blackfoot, ID; brothers, Melven (Marsha) Haroldsen and Devar (Sharon) Haroldsen; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Darwin Dutson and Elbert Harrison Pershing; biological parents, Marvin and Eva Crofts; adopted parents, Ancel and Eliza Haroldsen; siblings, Opal Crofts, Gwen Crofts, Max Crofts, Darlene Crofts, Bernard Crofts, Dale Crofts, Nadine Crofts, Bonnie Crofts, Ron Crofts, Don Crofts, Leanna Morris, and James Haroldsen.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. prior to services at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue.
