Jan (Bost) Knighton

Jan Bost Knighton, cherished wife of Dan Knighton Sr. and beloved mother of six children, passed away April 18, 2023. She passed quietly with her husband by her side after battling illness for many months.

Jan was born December 14, 1956, to Frank Calvin Bost Jr. and Nellie Layton Bost in Ogden, Utah. She met her eternal companion, Dan, in Bountiful and they soon were married on September 26, 1973, in Farmington, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 13, 1974, making that her favorite birthday present of all time.

She always loved to be outdoors, with camping and hiking being her favorite activities, aside from curling up on the couch with a good book. She loved her family with all her being and loved being with them. One of her most precious possessions was her testimony of her Savior and of the scriptures. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and her testimony was strong and influenced many.

She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Joseph Knighton.

She is survived by her husband, Dan Knighton Sr.; her children, Dan Knighton Jr., Myron Knighton, Jacob Knighton, Phillip (Laura) Knighton, and Heather (RJ) Hill; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Pioneer Cemetery in Rigby. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., both times at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, in Ammon.
