JAN ISOM
IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO: Jan Sweeten Isom, 46, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 19, 2002, along with her husband, Chuck, and daughter, Jennifer, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born May 1, 1956 in Malad, Idaho to Colen Hagle Sweeten, Jr and Ruth Gerber Sweeten. She graduated from Malad High School and Seminary and later from Ricks College. While attending Ricks, she met Charles Brent Isom and they were married on May 5, 1977 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They had four children. They lived for a short time in Vista, California, before making their home in Idaho Falls.
Although Jan had many interests and talents, her real loves were her family and music. At the time of her death, she was working for the Idaho Falls School District. She also worked in the newsroom at the Post Register. Jan was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served most recently in the scouting program with her husband, Chuck, and in the Primary. She enjoyed scrapbooking, music, singing, photography, animals and especially spending time with her family. She and her daughter, Jenny, loved singing at the Cowboy Poets of Idaho Inc.
She will be remembered by those who knew her for her smile and gentle nature.

I knew Jan when she worked at the INEL. Although the years sent us down different paths, I will always remember what a wonderful person she was. Jan always greeted me with a smile and her willingness to help.
I know this is an extremely hard time for the family. Dealing with the loss of a loved one is not easy, but to deal with the loss of three loved ones at once would be overwhelming.
Know that my prayers are with you and if it were possible I would be there to give a hug and shed a tear.
