IONA, ID -- James Edward "Jim" Soliday, 64, of Iona, died February 11, 2007, at his home. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. Jim was born September 27, 1942, in Connellsville, Pa., to Clarence Leroy Soliday and Mary Glenrose Kock Soliday. He grew up and attended schools in Pennsylvania. He moved to the Idaho Falls area in 1960. On August 21, 1966, he married Gail R. Denning in Nevada. He was the owner and operator of Jim's Tree Service. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, racing stock cars, woodworking, boating, and being with his family. Survivors include his wife, Gail Soliday of Iona; children, Terra (David) Maurer of Idaho Falls; James Edwrd Soliday Jr. of Iona; and Lee (Tamara) Soliday of Ucon; siblings, Jesse Leroy Soliday, Peggy (Bill) Huber, and Beverly (Ronald) Marker, all of Pennsylvania, Harry David Soliday of Colorado, and Fay (Eddy) Hinckel of Ohio; eight grandchildre; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at the Iona LDS Stake Center, corner of Iona Road and Ririe Highwya, with Bishop Geoffrey Thomas of the Iona 5th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge Avenue in Idaho Falls) and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
