James Sobieski

James Richard “Jim” Sobieski, 72, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 25, 2013, in Island Park, Idaho. He was born March 10, 1941, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Frank Sobieski and Lena Pearl Staker Sobieski. He grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Bonneville High School. He joined the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. On September 21, 1963, he married Helen E. Kinghorn in Elko, Nevada. Jim worked for Iron Works in Whittier, California for two years. He lived in Idaho Falls for most of his life and worked as a fireman at the INL. Jim spent his summers at his cabin in Island Park, where he enjoyed riding four-wheelers and loved spending time with his family. Survivors are: Wife: Helen Sobieski, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Robert (Lana) Sobieski, Shelley, ID Son: Scott (Amy) Sobieski, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Dee Sobieski Sister: Dawn Ann Noakes 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alan Sobieski; sisters, Francis, Ruth, and Betty; and brothers, Bud and Jack. At Jim’s request, no public services are being held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
