James “Jim” David Shively, 82, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 22, 2015, at his home. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice and his loving family.
Jim was born January 11, 1933, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Stephen Shively and Gladys Evelyn Collins Shively. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
On November 28, 1952, he married Jacqueline "Jackie" Conn in Idaho Falls. To this union were born five children; Bruce, Pam, Marilyn, Susan and Vicky. Jim and Jackie made their home in Mud Lake, Idaho, where Jim was a farmer and rancher, and enjoyed working on the farm.
He enjoyed gardening, wood working, camping, fishing and hunting. Jim was a volunteer for 30 years for the West Jefferson fire district and was a longtime member of the West Jefferson Lions Club.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jackie of Idaho Falls, ID;
son, Bruce (Rosemary) Shively of Terreton, ID;
daughter, Pam (Jerry) Tomlinson of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Marilyn (Brent) Lounsbury of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Susan (Mike) Egbert of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Vicky (Kyle) Clayson of Pleasant Grove, UT;
brother, Jerry (Ann) Shively of Idaho Falls, ID;
brother in-law, Clayton (Marcia) Conn of Springville, UT;
sister in-law, Janice Shively of Terreton, ID;
20 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Gladys Shively and a brother, Bill Shively.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Wood East Side (963 S. Ammon Road) with Bishop Jerry D. Tomlinson (Son in-law) officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 6:30-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior, both visitations at Wood East Side. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
