JIM PETERSON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- James Sven “Jim” Peterson, 75, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away March 23, 2010, at Mount Vernon Assisted Living in Idaho Falls. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice. He was born November 12, 1934, in Mesa, Arizona, to Frank Henry Peterson and Petronella Watts Peterson. He grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Mesa High School. Following high school he served in the U. S. Army. He then attended Weber State College in Ogden, Utah, where he earned an Associate Degree in Computer Science. On May 19, 1967, he married Merri Lou Squires in Tucson, Arizona. He was an electrical contractor and owner of Peterson and Son Electric in Mesa, Arizona. Jim was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed watching old movies, Fox News and listening to music. Survivors are: Wife: Merri Lou Peterson, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Michael John (Mary Lou Hinchey) Peterson, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Henry Eugene Peterson, Phoenix, Arizona Brother: William Allen Peterson, San Antonio, Texas Sister: Shirley Mae Zent, Mesa, Arizona Brother: Gary Peterson, California 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents; and 5 siblings, Frank Darby Peterson, Herbert Watts Peterson, Mary Ella Vaughn, Dorothy Jewel Sakshaug, and Betty Virginia Peterson. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010, at the Mesa LDS Crismon Ward, 454 North Crismon Road, Mesa, Arizona. The family will visit with friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Mesa City Cemetery under the direction of Bunker Funeral Home, 9702 East Apache Trail, Mesa.
