James Loveval Mower, 83, of Ririe, passed away June 6, 2024, at his home. He was under the care of his family and Enhabit Hospice.
James was born February 13, 1941, in Fairview, Utah, to James Henry Mower and Jessie Pearl Reynolds Mower. He grew up and attended schools in Fairview, and graduated from Fairview High School. He also attended Provo Tech.
On March 15, 1996, he married Venla Gardner in Twin Falls, Idaho. James and Venla made their home in Ririe, where James worked as a Waste Plant Operator for Pillsbury, French's and Basic American processing, all in the same plant, it just kept changing owners.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, reading, all sports, especially the Yankees and the Jazz.
James is survived by his wife, Venla Mower of Ririe, ID; daughter, Michele J'nae (TJ Schmidt) Mower of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Andrea (Nathan) Adams of Longview, WA; daughter, Chris Lewis of Longview, WA; daughter, Kathy (Carl) Bone of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Richard (Amy) Higgins of Chitlon, WI; daughter, Tarmi (Kevin) Crapo of Glendale, OR; 34 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jessie Mower; sister, Gloria Mower; and two nieces, Sally and Kelly.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the church building, 285 2nd West, in Ririe. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
