Idaho Falls

James “Jim” Marshall, 67, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away on March 1, 2026, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.

James Robert Marshall, son of Robert and Marilyn (Lueck) Marshall, was born on May 18, 1958, in Clarion, Iowa. Jim grew up on a dairy farm. He was in 4-H, FFA, and wrestled in high school. Jim graduated from Clarion High School in 1976. After high school, Jim studied to be a mechanic. He moved to Waverly, Iowa, and worked for John Deere. Later, he moved to Colorado and worked for JCI, RTD, and Tennet.

In August of 1995, Jim was united in marriage to Marsha Ann Mobley. They lived on an acreage in Fort Lupton, Colorado, for many years, and then retired and moved to Idaho Falls. Jim and Marsha were married for 30 years.

Jim was a good man who knew who he was and always knew and remembered that he was loved by his parents, family, and friends.

Jim (Marshall, as many of his friends called him) loved to hunt, fish, and bbq on grill. He loved his Duke Dog, truck, and music. He was a gardener, builder, and a fixer of all kinds of things. Jim was a mechanic by trade. He loved to camp and loved his hunting camps with his family, and especially his close buddies, Dan and Jose, his father-in-law, and brother-in-law. He got to travel and enjoy camps, lodges, and adventures in Alaska, Idaho, the Midwest, and a few other countries.

Jim was as kind and gentle to himself as he was to other people. He led by example and an easy honesty. Jim was an excellent project manager and could see the big picture. He was a planner and a doer. The homes he lived in in Colorado and Idaho all became beautiful through his attention and care. He was more easy-going and left detail work for others. He laid the foundation with care, patience, and quality workmanship. He was generous, caring, and let other people be who they were without judgment or trying to correct them. He touched and bettered the lives of many, many people by his gentle accepting ways. Jim made lasting friendships with all kinds of people. His friends were true, loyal, and dear to him. Everyone who knew him became a better person because of his kind and steady manner. He will continue to live in each of us and we are happy and grateful he was our loved one.

Jim is survived by his wife, Marsha Mobley of Idaho Falls; sister, Carol (Marshall) Kellison (Roger) of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marilyn Marshall; sister, Kay (Marshall) Anderson and Sam and Eleonore Mobley.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Clarion, Iowa.
