James Lynn Jensen, 62, died at his home August 15, 2018, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was born July 7, 1956 in Idaho Falls, to Lester and Elizabeth (Beth) Stevens Jensen. He was a member of the L.D.S church and attended Skyline High School.
Lynn and Vicki Lynn Burke were married May 3, 1975 and had two children, Michael Lynn and Jami Marie. They were later divorced.
He worked as a laborer on the Teton Dam and Mountain View Hospital. He was self-employed for several years.
He had two passions – auto restoration and cooking. He was a great mechanic and spent 30 years restoring and painting cars. He was written up in an auto body magazine for the excellent work he did, specifically regarding a Corvette he restored and painted. He fulfilled his passion for cooking when he moved to Twin Falls, Idaho working as a chef and a caterer. He later returned to Idaho Falls. He loved to do carpentry, camp and fish, play pool, darts and golf. He was also a very talented artist and loved to draw.
James was a family man and loved spending time with them. His generosity and kindness were apparent to all who knew him and will leave a lasting impression on those he came across.
His parents, Lester and Elizabeth Stevens Jensen, and a sister, Sharon Ann Wells, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son; Michael (Morgan) of Idaho Falls; his daughter, Jami Jensen of Sugar City; 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lester Dee (Anne) Jensen of Mesa, Arizona, and Richard Brent (Linda) Jensen of Ogden, Utah; 2 sisters, Marjean (David-deceased) Secl of La Grande, Oregon, and Beth Renee (Doug) Stone of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and brother-in-law, Loren Wells of Ajo, Arizona and extended family.
Honoring Lynn’s wishes, a private memorial service will be held for his family. Cremation is being handled by Wood Funeral Home.
