James Shawn Ivie, 51, sadly left us on January 30, 2023.
James was born to his beloved mother, Margaret (Maggie) D. Wojciechowski, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, who preceded him in death.
He attended Skyline High School, leaving at the age of 17 to join the US Navy. He served four years on the USS Nimitz as a Culinary Specialist and earning his GED. He then joined the US Army, serving four years as a firefighter. James was very proud to have served his country and spoke of his experiences often.
James never met a stranger, every person in the world was just a person he hadn't met yet. All were his family. The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to James. He loved rides on his Harley with his wife, fly fishing with his son, and camping with his children, family, and friends. One could generally hear him singing a tune for he adored singing, karaoke being one of his talents. He loved his children best, unconditionally, and always. Of the many adventures in his life, being a father was his true love.
James is survived by his wife, Angela Sayer; children, Jacob (Kayla) Ivie, Makynna Ivie, Grace Newton; grandchild, Jeremy; stepfather, James (Kelly) Wojciechowski; and his brother, Matthew (Kayla) Wojciechowski.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 7-11 p.m. at the Downtown Event Center in Idaho Falls, 480 Park Avenue.
