James Hayward

James Alan Hayward, 92, of St. Anthony, passed away April 24, 2017, at his home. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.

James was born April 20, 1925, in Deer Trail, Colorado, to Chester Joseph Hayward and Myrtle Alice Hayward. He grew up and attended schools in Deer Trail and graduated from Deer Trail High School. James served his country in the US Marines.

On June 6, 1948, he married Fern Newbold in Deer Trail, Colorado. To this union were born seven children. James and Fern made their home in Deer Trail, Colorado, until 1979, when they moved to St. Anthony, Idaho.

He was a member of The Presbyterian Church. James enjoyed woodworking, being outdoors and spending time with his family.

James is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Fern Hayward; daughter, Sandra (Larry) Bickel of Greeley, CO; son, Rodney (Cyndi) Hayward of Auburn, WA; son, Joel (Pat) Hayward of Fort Collins, CO; son, Greg (Chris) Hayward of Rigby, ID; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sons, Robert James Hayward, Bruce Jay Hayward and Douglas Paul Hayward.
