James Dean Haynie

James Dean Haynie, 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 31, 2022.

James was born August 11, 1944, in San Luis Obispo, California, to James Dembowski and Romadean Cutburth. He grew up and attended schools in San Luis Obispo.

He married Maria Alejandria and they had two beautiful children, Ronald “Ron” and Jemadean. He joined the U.S. Navy where he served for 18 years. He served in the Vietnam War and retired as a CPO. He then worked in construction where he was self-employed. He enjoyed woodworking, auto restoration, and camping.

James is survived by his loving son, Ron Haynie of San Diego, CA; daughter, Jemadean (Edgar) Vasquez of CA; and brother, William "Bill" Haynie of Idaho Falls, ID.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Dembowski, and mother, Romadean Cutburth.

A gathering will be held from 1:30-3 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2022, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue in Idaho Falls. Following the gathering, Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.

James loved animals and rescued many dogs and cats. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Snake River Animal Shelter .
