James Henry Haroldsen, 73, of Pingree, Idaho, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls due to an aortic dissection.
He was born June 22, 1938 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ancel Henry Haroldsen and Eliza Eldora Andersen Haroldsen. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
James continued his education at Brigham Young University and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Husbandry.
On November 16, 1962, he married Dorothy Marie Brown in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they raised seven children. James worked as a farmer and rancher, as well as a father and grandfather.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life. James enjoyed being involved in the Boy Scouts of America, farming, hiking, fishing, ranching, and spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids. And did we mention farming?

Son: Royd Travis (Shannon) Haroldsen of Idaho Falls, ID;
Daughter: Kedra Chauntelle (Jeff) Rust of Vernal, UT;
Son: Ryan Heath (Rhonda) Haroldsen of Pingree, ID;
28 Grandchildren and one great-grandchild;
Brother: Ancel DeVar Haroldsen
Brother: Melven Jarrell Haroldsen, both of Idaho Falls, ID; and
Sister: Janace Corriene Pershing of Idaho Falls, ID;
Sister: Joyce Collene Novasad of Blackfoot, ID; and
Sister: LeAnna (Boyd) Morris of Idaho Falls, ID.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services for James will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Idaho Falls St. Leon Ward, 6925 North 15th East. The family will visit with friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
