JAMES WAYNE HAMMOND
PLACENTIA, CA -- James Wayne Hammond, 59 of Placentia, California, passed away at Placentia Linda Hospital January 19, 2007.
Jim was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on January 29, 1947, to Leland Wayne Hammond and Amelia Kingsford Hammond.
He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1966 and attended Brigham Young University. He served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Since his marriage to Marcia Collins on June 2, 1971, in the Los Angeles LDS Temple, he resided in California. He owned his own company, designing and building swimming pools. Jim loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marcia, and daughters, Kimber Lee Hammond and Leandra Hammond; sons, Jeffery (Stacie) Hammond and Michael Hammond; his mother, Amelia Hammond (who passed away one day after Jim); and sisters, Janice (Melvin) Duehlmeier, Bonnie (Garth) Gunderson and Lorie (John) Mitchell; brother, Richard (Donette) Hammond. He is preceded in death by a brother, Steven Hammond, and his father, Wayne Hammond.
Funeral Services were held at the Placentia, California LDS Third Ward Chapel January 22, 2007 with Bishop Keith Gibson officiating.
