JAMES CODDING, JR.
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- James William Codding, Jr. of Idaho Falls, passed away on February 3, 2007, at his home.
He was born April 17, 1925, in Amsterdam, New York, to James William and Jessie May Edwards Codding, Sr. He enlisted in the Navy soon after graduating from high school and spent most of World War II in the South Pacific. After the war, he graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
He married Evelyn Margaret Stook of Verona, New York, on July 2, 1946, in Verona, New York.
He started work with General Electric in Schenectady, New York, in 1949, moved to Idaho with Phillips Petroleum at the Site in 1954, and retired from EG&G in 1981. He and his wife purchased 40 acres in 1956, and built their "ranch" raising and boarding horses. His wife, Evelyn, passed away on March 25, 2006.
He is survived by his children, James William (Cheryl) Codding III of Idaho Falls, Jeffery Warren Codding of Boonville, MO, and Sharon C. (Ken) Shoemaker of Idaho Falls, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
There will be no funeral services as he wished. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Idaho Youth Ranch in Idaho Falls.
