James Orson Christensen Jr., 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 16, 2015, at Turtle & Crane Assisted Living. He was under the care of Hearts for Hospice.
Jim was born October 22, 1939, in Driggs, Idaho, to James Orson Christensen and Helen Gessel Christensen. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
On November 26, 1980, he married Anna Marie Meyer in Idaho Falls. He was a loving father to his two daughters, Toni and Tammy. Jim and Anna made their home in Idaho Falls where Jim worked as a mechanic for Bowl-Ero and was a maintenance mechanic at Basic American for 35 years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, and hunting.
Jim is survived by
his loving wife of 34 years, Anna Christensen of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Toni Wallace of Boise, ID;
daughter, Tammy (Daurel) Palmer of Idaho Falls, ID;
brother, Henry Ray (Carol) Christensen of Keizer, OR;
sister, Jerri (Otis) Walker of Idaho Falls, ID;
six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen Christensen; and a brother, Larry Christensen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2015, at the Woodruff 1st Ward, 1660 12th Street, with Bishop Colby Cazier officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
