James Leo Chapple, Jr., 54, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 30, 2026, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
James was born April 2, 1972, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to James Leo Chapple, Sr. and Barbara Joy McKelley Chapple. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School. He also attended Idaho State University.
On April 25, 1992, he married Christy Davis in Woodville, Idaho. James and Christy made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where James worked as a shop foreman for American Fabrication.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, and shooting guns. He was also a big family man and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a doting and loving husband, father, and brother. He was a hard worker and was loved and respected by those he worked with. He left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He will be missed by many friends and family.
James is survived by his wife of 34 years, Christy Chapple of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Keisha (Rick Morris) Chapple of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Dakota (Brianna Patterson) Chapple of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Zachary Chapple of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Amadaia Blair of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Marquise (Hanna Lee) Blair of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Daniel Gneiting of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Nicole Lunt of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Cheri (Travis Killian) Chapple of Idaho Falls, ID; mother, Barbara Joy Chapple; brother-in-law, Wade (Stacy) Carpenter; niece, Shelby Carpenter-Jackman; nephew, Dakota Jackman; 7 grandchildren; as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Leo Chapple, Sr.; father-in-law, Karl Davis; mother-in-law, Aleta Davis; grandfather, Bert McKelley; grandmother, Margret McKelley; and grandson, Roman Blair.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
