JAMES F. CHANDLER
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- James Foster Chandler, 83, of Idaho
Falls, died December 2, 2004, at his home.
He was born January 28, 1921 in Rigby, to Arthur Reuel
Chandler and Margaret Foster Chandler. He was the first son of seven children,
He graduated from Rigby High School, then went on to attend Ricks College.
On January 4, 1944, he married C. Beth Grover in the
Logan LDS Temple. He joined the United States Navy and served during World
War II until his discharge in 1946. He finished his education at Oregon
State University in Corvallis where he received a Bachelor's Degree. They
then moved to Idaho Falls where they have since resided.
He worked for the Hatch Clinic for 40 years as a Medical
Technician. He was also active in scouting, earning the Silver Beaver
Award and serving as District Advancement Chairman.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, he served in many positions including that of Bishop.
As a youth, he served in the Texas-Louisiana Mission and has since served
6 other missions for the church.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, working with the youth
in his ward, and hiking at Darby Girl’s Camp with the Young Women.
Jim's greatest joy was his children and grandchildren.

Brother: Art Chandler, Buhl, ID
Sister: Lilly Mae McMurtrey, Arco, ID
Brother: Kay Chandler, Clearfield, UT
21 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, George; an infant son; a grandson,
Brad; and his daughter-in-law, Debra.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m Tuesday, December
7, 2004, at the Idaho Falls LDS 18th Ward, 1200 Dunbar, with Bishop Frank
Johnston officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Monday from 7-8:30
p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and for one hour prior to the
services at the church.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home, P. O. Box 51434, Idaho Falls, ID. Military Rites
will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team.
