James Burtenshaw, Jr

James "Jim" Burtenshaw, Jr., 71, of Vallejo, California, passed away February 4, 2014, at Kaiser Hospital Vallejo of natural causes. Jim was born March 9, 1942, in Vallejo, California, to James Burtenshaw and LaRee Williamson Burtenshaw. A lifelong resident of Vallejo, he graduated from Vallejo High School. He served in the U. S. National Guard Reserves. On September 4, 1970, he married Judie Hamilton in Michigan. They were later divorced. He worked as a pipe fitter for Mare Island Naval Shipyard. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, his dogs, and boating. Jim is survived by his daughter, Kristine Hartman of Roseville, CA, his father, James Burtenshaw Sr., a grandson, Trevor Hartman, and a granddaughter, Trista Hartman. He was preceded in death by his mother, LaRee Burtenshaw. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014, at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery, 12463 East 129 North. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue.
