James W. Bowen, 59, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away February 15, 2023, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
James was born August 27, 1963, in Idaho Falls, to Lyle H. Bowen and Mary Jane Genther Bowen. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls.
On August 18, 2001, he married Brittney Lee Carlsen in Idaho Falls. James and Brittney made their home in Idaho Falls. They had one child, Hailee Bowen. They later divorced. James was later engaged to Karen Baker. He worked for Fentons Office Solutions.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, camping, being outdoors, and spending time with his grandkids and family. He became an ordained minister for the Universal Life Church.
James is survived by his loving daughter, Hailee Bowen; sister, Tina (Rick) Ackerman of Idaho Falls; brothers, Kevin (Toby) Bowen of Idaho Falls, JD (Elaine) Bowen of Seagoville, TX, Todd (Tami) Bowen of Rigby, ID; and his many nieces and nephews. Along with his other children, he is survived by Tricia Wadsworth of Idaho Falls, Daniel Baker of Boise, ID, Brennen and Natalie Baker of Ammon, ID; and his 9 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Ucon Stake Center, 2967 East 105th North, in Ucon, with Bishop Brandon Andrus of the Yellowstone Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. A public viewing will be held Friday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the church.
