James Raymond Beard

James Raymond Beard, 72, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 31, 2020, at his home. He was under the care of Solace Hospice and his loving family.

James was born December 1, 1948, in Rigby, Idaho, to Wilbur Raymond Beard and Pauline Emily Purser Beard. He grew up and attended schools in Rexburg and Sugar City, Idaho. After high school he joined the Marines and received military training.

On August 23, 1966, he married Aloha Gaye Beard in Bingham County, Idaho. James and Gaye made their home in Washington and Michigan before returning to Idaho Falls, Idaho, where James worked at Idaho Fresh Pack. Gaye passed away on December 3, 1999.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. James enjoyed being outdoors where he could hunt, fish and camp. He also enjoyed collecting guns and knives and playing card games. He especially enjoyed pinocle. James loved his kids and granddaughters.

James is survived by his loving children, Angela Gaye Beard of Idaho Falls, ID, and Corrie Raymond (Karen Stair) Beard; sister, Paulanna (Duane) Wheeler of Ririe, ID; four grandchildren, Aloha Beard, Coral Beard, Kayla Campbell and Jessica Campbell; one great grandchild, Natalia Jadee Olivas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Aloha Gaye Beard; infant sons, Steven and Darrin; and sister, Blanche Clark.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Wood Funeral Home to help defray funeral costs.

Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Marine Honor Guard.
