IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Jacquolin “Jackie” Ferney, 78, passed away January 4, 2009, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.
She was born December 29, 1930, in Walkermine, California, to Arvid F. Glover and LaJetta Gardner Glover. She was raised in the Ashton area and graduated from Ashton High School.
She married Dean Marlin Ferney January 2, 1948 in Ashton. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple July 28, 1995. She lived in the Rexburg area for 26 years, where she and Dean raised their family. They later moved to Idaho Falls and have lived here for the past 25 years. She was a homemaker and loving mother.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life including visiting the residents at the Idaho Falls Care Center and Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She loved to golf and ski and was in charge of the Ladies Day Ski Bus in Rexburg for several years. She enjoyed camping in their RV and especially loved being with her family and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband,
Dean Ferney of Idaho Falls;
Daughter, Kristine Chapman of Lava, Idaho
Son, Bradley D. (Gay ) Ferney of Idaho Falls;
Son, Curtis L. (Tammy) Ferney of Rexburg;
Sister, Marsha Bergeson of St. George, UT;
9 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Yutona Bean.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009, at the Idaho Falls LDS Woodruff 2nd Ward, 1660 – 12th Street, with Bishop Mike Phippen officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
