Jacqulyn Hall Smith Hooper living in Spencer Idaho, passed away on the morning of August 12, 2023. She was surrounded by family and friends during the entire week preceding her death.
Jacqulyn was born December 1, 1938, in the town of Jerome, Idaho, to Dorothy (Dot) and Jack Hall. The family soon moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she resided in cities of Copperton, Sandy, and Midvale. Jackie attended Bingham High School, where she met her first husband, Harold Smith. Jackie and Harold had four sons, Scott of Phoenix, AZ, Kraig of Laramie, WY, James of Phoenix, AZ, and Jack, of Patterson, CA.
Jackie was preceded in death by her brothers, Todd Hall, Michael Hall and Jeff Hall. Also preceding her in death were her husbands, Harold Smith and Dennis Hooper. Still surviving is Jackie's brother, Ronald Hall of Tremonton, UT; and sister, Jeannie Hall Peterson, of Grantsville, UT.
Jackie was blessed with eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, all of whom loved to spend time with Grandma Jackie, as did all of her many nieces and nephews.
Jackie was an accomplished artist. She loved to paint with oils and sketch with charcoal pencils. She was happy to sketch for anyone who asked. She was a designer for Your Electric Sign Company and after moving to Spencer, Idaho, she became a creative jewelry designer and stone cutter, working the Spencer Idaho Opal's. Jackie and Dennis both lived out their days working the opal jewelry store (High Country Opal) and living in the attached home they built together. Jackie was proudly a part of the Idaho Scenic Byways Project and helped to design much of the artwork either standing in the field at different landmark locations or in the available brochure.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to cancer treatment and/or cure for cancer organization of your choice.
