JACOB LEONARD
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Jacob Levi Leonard, 26, returned to
his heavenly home on January 27, 2005, after being struck by a car in
Las Vegas, Nevada January 26, 2005.
Jacob was born May 20, 1978, in Guam to James F. and
Ronnie Tharp Leonard. He is the eighth child in his family of six brothers
and five sisters and holds the family record for birth weight at 10 lbs.
14-1/2 oz. He was one hefty, but gorgeous baby boy!
Jake grew up in Guam, Idaho, and Utah. He loved playing
with his brothers and sisters and just being one of the gang. He excelled
at skateboarding, playing basketball, football, and baseball, where he
was a proud member of the All Star Team. He also loved bowling, tennis
and racquetball with his Dad and brothers. In addition to sports, Jake
loved music and played the trumpet in Mr. Brickey's sixth grade band.
He further developed his musical talent by learning to play the acoustic
guitar with his brothers and friends; then went on to include the bass
guitar with a record-making band. He also became a superb tiling craftsman
and his work exists in many cities of the United States.
Jake is remembered by loved ones as a hard worker who
was quick to lend a helping hand. We will also remember his beautiful
blue eyes, his freckles, his easy-going manner, his willingness to forgive,
his laughter, his eagerness to share, his smile, his ability to make us
laugh and his kindnesses to each of us. He will be dearly missed by each
of his family, friends, and the love of his life, Carrie Jones.
Jake is survived by his father and mother, brothers and
sisters, Shiree, Tiffany, Sasha, Tyler, James, Jared, Jonathan, Joshua
and Anjalique, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Bridget, and his maternal and
paternal grandparents.
